  • 5 Days Carnival Fantasy Cruise from Charleston
  • 2 Port Days (Nassau and Freeport, Bahamas)
  • Booked Shore Excursion via Carnival at NAssau
  • Went on excursion via Cab (Cheap)
  • Cruise Month – December 2013

Activities on Cruise

There are lot of things to do onboard Carnival Fantasy cruise ship. We probably saw just 25% of events and activities on the ship.

Carnival Fantasy had 14 Decks. Plus Mini-Golf on top deck.

There are about 1000 crew members and 2600 Passengers ( about 700 kids).

There were events, game shows,  stand-up comedy, music shows, casino, karaoke and lot more.

Best of all,  adults can leave the kids in Camp Carnnival. There were 2 kinds of Camp based on Age Groups.

Rishi had fun at Camp Carnival (Ages 2 to 5). They are open from 10 AM to 3 AM.

Parents have all the time in the world to have fun and enjoy, relax while cruising.

On-shore Excursions

Following is a typical 5 Days Itinerary for Carnival Fantasy

Carnival Fantasy Itinerary

On Day 3 and Day 4 (Port Days), we went for Shore Excursions.

Day 3 – Nassau

There are several shore excursions packages offered by Carnival. After looking at the options, we booked Atlantis Paradise Island Discovery and Beach via Carnival.

It was around $104 per person. Kids above 4 have to pay kids price.

On Day 3 morning, we changed to Atlantis Aquaventure Excursion ($185 per person).

  • Tip : I don’t recommend booking shore excursions via Carnival. It’s expensive.

If we walked to Atlantis and purchased the same, it would be $80 per person and $50 for kids.

Water Taxi if $6 per person.  We paid $370 for 2 Adults via Carnival. We should have paid around $180 if we had done the same trip via Water Taxi (or taking a cab). I should have done more research or read a blog like this 🙂

Day 4 – Freeport Bahamas

Carnival should consider offering a different port instead of Freeport. There’s not a lot of things to do in Freeport. Not many passengers got out in Freeport.

We had a long line at Nassau to board the cruise again. But, there was hardly any line at Freeport to board the ship at end of the day.

We walked out from the cruise (go to level 3 to get out of the ship).

We were going to get a Taxi Cab to go to Port Lakaya Market and nearby beach. That’s were another family (from Morrisville) and they asked we were going. We then went together on a Limo to Junkano Beach Resort.

  • Cost per Person for Round Trip – $14
  • Same trip would have cost $65 person person via Carnival.

It was about 30 minute drive to the beach club.  While at beach, we went on Banana Boat and that’s were had a good adventure. Things could been much worse, but it was just a small cut on the face when 4 of us fell from the boat in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean.
